Seventeen Border Security Force personnel sustained injuries when a mini truck they were travelling in overturned in Chhattisgarh's Kanker district on Friday, as reported by the police.

The incident occurred in the afternoon as the jawans were en route to Antagarh from their camp in Phulpad village in the district, according to a senior police official.

Preliminary information suggests that the vehicle, carrying personnel from the 162nd battalion of the BSF, was on its way to Antagarh railway station to drop them off for their leave.

"The vehicle overturned near Kumhari village under Rowghat police station limits on Antagarh-Narayanpur road, leaving 17 of them injured. The injured jawans were taken to a hospital in Narayanpur district headquarters for treatment," the official stated.

Subsequently, four of the injured were referred to Raipur for further medical attention. An investigation into the incident is currently underway.

The BSF plays a significant role in Kanker district, situated in the Bastar region, particularly in anti-Naxal operations.
