After conducting a joint operation, Punjab and Delhi Police officials detained a man and a woman who allegedly helped fugitive Khalistani separatist Amritpal Singh flee, as per media reports.
Punjab Police on Monday night conducted a search operation at a house in Mohali.
Gurjant Singh and Nisha Rani were detained after a two-hour-long search operation from a house in Sector 88 in Mohali on Monday night.
However, police remained tight-lipped about the operation and there was no official word on the same.
Police had launched a major crackdown last month against Amritpal Singh and the members of his "Waris Punjab De" outfit. The Khalistan sympathiser escaped the police net in Jalandhar district on March 18 by switching vehicles and changing appearances.
