After Charred Bodies Of Two Rajasthan Men Found In Haryana, Families Allege Bajrang Dal's Role

Families of Junaid and Nasir - two men from Bharatpur in Rajasthan - have alleged that they were abducted, assaulted and later burnt with their car. The charred bodies and the car were found in Haryana's Bhiwani on Thursday. A day before, on Wednesday, families had filed an FIR in Gopalgarh police station in Bharatpur, alleging that the two men, who also happen to be friends, had gone missing and were abducted by members of the Bajrang Dal.

"We want justice. My cousin Junaid and his friend were abducted and burnt alive. The guilty should be given stringent punishment", said Junaid's relative Ismail, a 62-year-old resident of Ghatmika.

The FIR was lodged by Junaid’s relative Ismail, who also identified the bodies of the duo. "On Wednesday, around 5 am, Junaid and Nasir had boarded a Bolero car for some work. Four hours later, when the complainant (Ismail) was sipping tea at a roadside tea stall, a stranger who he met there informed him that two men, who were en route Gopalgarh, were badly beaten by 8-10 men and kidnapped by their assaulters. The incident occurred around 6 am," reads the FIR lodged by the police on the complaint of Ismail, in Bharatpur.

FIR mentions the role of Bajrang Dal members

The FIR further added, "When enquired about the attackers, people present there said that they were from the Bajrang Dal. The names include Anil, Shrikant, Rinku Saini, Lokesh Singla, and Monu resident of Manesar.” According to the police, all six accused are from Haryana.

According to Bharatpur IG Gaurav Srivastava, the family members named some suspects, all belonging to Haryana.


 

In a video shared on social media, Mohit Yadav, one of the six Bajrang Dal members named in the FIR, denied the allegation and demanded strict action against those responsible for this. In the video, Mohit Yadav alias Monu, said, “No member of Bajrang Dal is involved in this. The incident is unfortunate. Strict action should be taken against those involved in the heinous crime."

Speaking to the media, Bharatpur IG Gaurav Srivastava said, “On Wednesday night, the family members of the two men informed the Gopalgarh police station that they had been abducted. The FIR was soon lodged. The charred car along with two bodies was found in the Bhiwani district’s Loharu area. Earlier we had traced their phones but didn't get through as they were switched off".

When asked about the family's claim Srivastava said, "Our teams have gone to meet the family members to confirm whether the two bodies are the same who were kidnapped

. Their identification shall be made only after the postmortem.

Speaking about the motive of the murder, the police said, "Junaid has five previous cases of cow smuggling registered against him. Whereas Nasir doesn’t have any criminal record."

About the incident, Assadudin Owaisi, AIMIM supremo on Thursday wrote on Twitter, "Two days back Junaid and Nasir were abducted from Rajasthan's Ghatmika. Today their burnt bodies have been found. The police under Ashok Gehlot did not take timely action and till now the accused have not been arrested. The accused are well-known Gau Rakshaks. Nasir and Junaid's families should get justice'
