Amid an ongoing tussle between the Aam Aadmi Party and Congress over contesting of Lok Sabha seats in Delhi, AAP national convener Arvind Kejriwal has confirmed that the party will be attending the next meeting of the INDIA bloc in Mumbai.

AAP earlier expressed resentment saying there was no point in having the INDIA alliance if Congress has decided to go solo for Lok Sabha polls. Last week, Congress leader Alka Lamba told reporters that Congress had not decided on whether to have an alliance, but “we have been asked to prepare ourselves on all seven seats".

"If Congress has made up its mind to fight elections alone in Delhi, there is no point of the INDIA alliance,” AAP chief spokesperson Priyanka Kakkar had said, adding that the party leadership will take the final call on attending the Mumbai meeting.

Today, while speaking to reporters in Delhi, Kejriwal deflated the speculations. “We will go to Mumbai, and will let you know about our strategy,” he said.

Delhi Congress chief Anil Chaudhary had already clarified that last week’s Congress meeting was not on alliance formation in Delhi and nothing was discussed about it.

"AAP can make assumptions but the decision on alliance will be taken by the AICC central leadership and it will be announced by them. We, as an opposition party here, will raise questions about corruption," he had said.

The next opposition alliance meeting is slated to be hosted by Shiv Sena-UBT chief and former Maharashtra chief minister Uddhav Thackeray on August 31 and September 1 in Mumbai.
