A Moscow nightclub's recent "almost naked" party, attended by pop stars and celebrities, has ignited a rapid and forceful backlash, particularly given the ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine.

A rapper, present at the celebrity-studded event, now faces a 15-day jail term for wearing next to nothing, just a sock to cover up. Additionally, a fine of 200,000 roubles has been imposed on the artist for allegedly promoting "non-traditional sexual relations".

The party, featuring attendees in minimal clothing and drag, has stirred controversy in Russia, where the nation is engaged in a war with Ukraine. This comes at a time when the authorities are advocating for an increasingly conservative social agenda.

Baza, a news outlet known for its connections with the security services, reported that troops actively involved in the Ukraine conflict were among the first to voice their complaints after witnessing the footage.

Party Organiser Apologised

TV presenter Anastasia Ivleeva, widely known as Nastya Ivleeva, has issued a public apology following the uproar surrounding the private "Almost Naked Party" she hosted at Moscow's Mutabor nightclub on December 20. The event gained widespread attention after images circulated on social media.

Ms Ivleeva appeared on social media to issue an apology.

“Was it inappropriate to film footage that went viral? Yes, it was 100 per cent highly inappropriate. I’m sorry that happened and that it couldn’t be controlled,” she said in a video shared on her Instagram page with over 18 million followers.
