In the evolving language of fashion, where trends often overshadow intent, for Hirni Shah, fashion remains a form of narrative art, she is recognized for focusing on the meaning behind fashion trends. With roots in India and a career in New York City, Shah’s styling reflects both emotional elements and cross-cultural influences. Her work spans runway shows, brand campaigns, and influencer collaborations, each project crafted with intention and industry insight.

Shah’s styling process always begins with a story. “Fashion is an emotional language,” she explains. “Every garment carries energy, history, and memory. My goal is to create looks that embody a narrative-whether it’s rebellion, nostalgia, or empowerment.” She has experience working in high-pressure settings like New York Fashion Week, where she worked backstage with Pocket Full of Cherrie, delivering vibrant, culturally rooted ensembles that pushed creative boundaries. Shah’s work with both new models and established personalities reflects her approach to using fashion to support the brand and the individual.

Key elements of Shah’s signature style include the use of texture, color theory, and contrast, often drawing inspiration from Indian textiles and traditional crafts. “I love mixing hard and soft, bold and muted, to create looks that feel intentional and emotionally resonant.” Balancing personal expression with brand identity is central to her approach. “I see myself as a translator—transforming a brand’s DNA into a wearable identity. It’s about alignment and intention-understanding the brand’s values while ensuring authenticity for the person wearing the look. When done right, styling tells a story that resonates on multiple levels.
