Actor Sunny Deol, who is basking in the success of ‘Gadar 2’, found himself in some controversy after a lender bank sent out an auction notice for his property in Juhu and alleged non-payment of Rs 55.99 crore loan.

Now a couple of days later, Sunny has finally reacted to the entire fiasco, and called it a “personal matter.” He further told news agency ANI, “I do not want to comment. These are personal matters. Main kuch bhi bolunga, log galat matlab nikalenge (I’ll not say anything, people will misinterpret).”

For those caught unaware, it was last week that Bank of Baroda issued a notice in a newspaper announcing the auction of Sunny Villa due to the failure of repayment of the said loan. However, the bank, the next day itself, withdrew the notice stating “technical reasons”, which thereby stopped them from e-auctioning Sunny’s property.

Soon, Sunny’s team, on Monday, shared a statement on the actor’s behalf and had requested people to not speculate on the matter. The statement mentioned, “We are in the process of resolving this issue and the issue will be resolved. We request for no further speculation on the same.”

Amid reports of Sunny’s financial woes, there were rumours hinting that ‘OMG 2’ actor Akshay Kumar offered a helping hand to the actor. However, Akshay’s team rubbished the claims and added that “all such claims are absolutely untrue.”

Meanwhile, on the work front, Sunny and Ameesha Patel’s ‘Gadar 2’, which released on August 11,  is already nearing the Rs 400 crore mark. The film, a sequel to ‘Gadar: Ek Prem Katha’, is close to replacing ‘Pathaan’ as the highest Bollywood grosser of the year.
