Shubham Kumar Mehra aka Daniyal has been garnering a lot of praise for his performances in Zee5’s ‘Taj – Divided By Blood’. However, with the praise, also comes the brickbats. The show and much rather, his performance has received a few bad reviews and negative comments.

Talking about the negative comments or reviews, Mehra says, “Negative comments about my performance do not affect me but negative comments about character and sexuality of the person affects me. Sexuality has nothing to do with the person, it has nothing to do with how the person is. Their life is interconnected and interlinked but I believe people are just people and they were born in the 1500s, you weren’t there nor was I so none of us can say what had happened, we have just read it. I just feel bad when people start criticizing the character on the basis of their sexuality.”

Talking about the first season of ‘Taj – Divided By Blood’, he talks about the things that he may have done differently if he were to do it all over again. “There are a few things that you always wished you had done differently. When I was dubbing for season 2, I thought that I could have changed a few things. It requires a lot of collaboration between the actor and the maker. I'm personally a fan of both part 1 and part 2 but there are always things where you want to change,” he concludes.
