Parineeti Chopra Reveals She Gained 15 Kilos For 'Chamkila' Starring Diljit Dosanjh: Anything For You Imtiaz Sir

Parineeti Chopra who will be seen in Imtiaz Ali's upcoming film 'Chamkila' revealed that she had put on 15 kilos for her role in the Diljit Dosanjh starrer.

Actress Parineeti Chopra will be seen in Imtiaz Ali's 'Chamkila'. She has gone through a drastic body transformation for her role. On Monday, the actress shared a video of her training for her role. She also penned a note where she revealed that she gained 15 kilos for her role in 'Chamkila'.

Parineeti who plays the late Punjabi folk singer Amarjot Kaur, wrote in her note, "I spent 6 months this year singing in Rahman sir's studio, and going back home to eat as much junk as I possibly could to put on 15 Kilos for Chamkila! (Coming soon on Netflix )Music and Food. That was my routine. Now that the film is done, the story is completely the opposite. I miss the studio, and live in the gym trying to get back to looking like myself again.

''And not like Amarjot ji! Its been hard. But anything for you Imtiaz sir! And this role. Many more inches to go. Let's do this,'' she added

It was earlier this year, Imtiaz Ali announced the biopic on the late singer Amar Singh Chamkila. For the unversed, Amar Singh Chamkila was Punjab's highest record-selling artist of his time. He was killed in 1988 at the age of 27. 

Diljit Dosanjh is playing Amar Singh. The announcement was made with a teaser that begins with the text, "Netflix presents the untold true story of the greatest singer of his time. The highest record selling artist of Punjab. Died at age 27".

'Chamkila' will be released in 2024 on Netflix.

Coming back to Parineeti Chopra, she was last seen in 'Mission Raniganj' opposite Akshay Kumar. The movie is currently streaming on Netflix. On the personal front, she tied the knot with AAP leader Raghav Chadha in September this year in Udaipur.
