On January 8, the makers of the highly-anticipated 'Devara Part 1' unveiled the teaser-trailer and it quickly became the talk of the country. Curiousity was only increasing regarding the film, and audiences couldn't wait to watch Jr NTR's next magnum opus.

As it is, the box office calendar in April had two big releases in store – 'Devara' and Akshay Kumar-Tiger Shroff’s 'Bade Miyan Chote Miyan.' Both the films seemed to have locked April 5 and April 10 as release dates respectively. And to add to it, Ajay Devgn's 'Maidaan' will also be releasing on April 10. Now, Pinkvilla has exclusively learnt that Jr NTR and director, Kortala Siva have decided to postpone 'Devara.' Why is that so? Rather than the Eid clash with the above-mentioned two films, there are two major reasons for this delay.

According to sources close to the film, there's still about 40 days of shooting that's left and the team needs some time to get the post-production work done too. "'Devara' is a high on VFX film and the output is taking longer than expected. The makers are clear to not compromise on the visuals as the stakes are high. Jr NTR is also very cautious about his next after 'RRR' and wants to deliver a big cinematic experience. The makers are now looking to arrive in the second half of 2024," revealed the source.

There are also rumours going around that the cast and crew of the film is not very eager to release the film as scheduled due to elections in Andhra Pradesh. Moreover, another reason is that Saif Ali Khan, who's taken up the role of an antagonist in the film, has recently undergone a surgery and will need time to fully recover. Due to this, the shoot will have to wait for him to resume work. "They don’t want to risk by shooting till the last minute and then delivering a compromised product on the edit and visual front. It’s better to wait for the right moment and come up with a film that stands true to the promises made," the source went on to add.

While the plot of 'Devara' has not been revealed yet, all we know is that it is a two-part film, filled with abundant action and drama, and boasts a phenomal ensemble.

Taking all factors into account, it seems like the film is currently unlikely to meet its scheduled release date of April 5. However, an official confirmation regarding the same from the makers and/or the cast is awaited.
