Anushka Sharma All Set To Make Her Cannes Debut, To Honour Women In Cinema With Kate Winslet

Anushka Sharma will be making her Cannes debut at the French Riviera later this month.

The Cannes Film Festival is one of the most awaited events across the globe, and not just for the films, the festival at the French Riviera, is also known for its fashion. Now adding to the excitement, actress Anushka Sharma is all set to make her debut at Cannes, and will participate in a celebration of women in film alongside Oscar winner Kate Winslet. 

Anushka's appearance at Cannes was confirmed by Emmanuel Lenain, the French ambassador to India. He revealed that he met the actress and her husband, cricketer Virat Kohli, before their trip.

He wrote on Twitter, "A pleasure meeting @imVkohli and @AnushkaSharma! I wished Virat & #TeamIndia all the best for the upcoming tournaments, and discussed Anushka's trip to #CannesFilmFestival." He even shared a picture with them featuring  Virat Kohli sporting a brown polo shirt and black trousers and Anushka wearing black trousers and a blue shirt.

Anushka Sharma also happens to be a brand ambassador of the cosmetic giant L'Oreal, and will be reportedly representing the brand at the film festival. Last year, she even shot for the brand's adverts in Paris.

Coming to Cannes, this year, the festival’s 76th edition will run from May 16 to May 27, 2023. Earlier, Aishwarya Rai, Vidya Balan, Sharmila Tagore, and Deepika Padukone, among others, have been part of the jury for the prestigious French festival.

Priyanka Chopra, Sonam Kapoor, Mallika Sherawat, Pooja Hegde, Hina Khan, Tamannaah Bhatia, and Aditi Rao Hydari have also walked the red carpet as part of various collaborations with luxury brands. 

Last year, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Tamannaah Bhatia, Grammy winning composers AR Rahman and Rickey Kej and actor R Madhavan were part of the event.
