South Park revelled in its Emmy win with a jibe hurled at Donald Trump. South Park won its fifth Emmy for Best Animated Show on Sunday after a season that constantly roasted Trump. This caused a substantial uptick in the show's viewership. The satire led to the White House lashing out with a statement that “the show has been irrelevant for 20 years, relying on uninspired ideas for attention.”
The official South Park account celebrated its win at the 2026 Creative Arts Emmys with a post yet again mocking Trump.
It depicted Trump clasping an Emmy trophy — alongside the rest of the show’s characters — with his pants and underwear around his ankles.

“You finally got your Emmy,” stated a message at the top of the image, while another along the bottom had the big reveal: “New episodes September 16.”
Trump and the Emmys share a longstanding fraught relationship. Trump has complained about the TV awards in the past due to the fact that he never won an award for The Apprentice — the business competition series he hosted from 2004 to 2015. Trump’s series lost to CBS’ The Amazing Race.
“The Emmys were horrendous…the absolute worst show,” Trump wrote on X in 2012, insisting in another post: “The Emmys are all politics, that’s why, despite nominations, The Apprentice never won — even though it should have many times over.”
In 2016, Hillary Clinton even alluded to the posts during a presidential debate, quipping: “There was even a time when he didn't get an Emmy for his TV program three years in a row, and he started tweeting that the Emmys were rigged against him.”
South Park has several Emmys, with 21 nominations and Matt Stone and Trey Parker inducted into the 28th Television Academy Hall of Fame earlier this year. The win for Season 27 was the first for South Park since 2013.
