‘Wake Up Sid 2’ On The Cards? Ranbir Kapoor, Konkana Sen Sharma Reunite For Special Shoot

Ranbir Kapoor and Konkona Sensharma first featured together in the 2009 romantic-comedy, ‘Wake Up Sid’, and their on-screen pairing and chemistry in the film got a lot of love from all quarters. Now, a behind-the-scenes video of the two actors, which looks from a set of a movie or an ad film, has got everyone talking about them sharing the screen together yet again. In fact, their fans are hoping they reunite for a sequel to ‘Wake Up Sid’.

According to a video, which has now been going viral on Reddit, Ranbir Kapoor, Konkona and actors Namit Das and Shikha Talsania, who played Ranbir’s friends in the film, were clicked working on something. Ranbir is dressed casually in a blue shirt and off-white pants, while Konkona is dressed similar to her ‘Wake Up Sid’ character Aisha. She is seen in a white kurta and denim, paired with a dupatta around her neck. Namit was seen donning a red floral shirt and beige-coloured shorts, while Shikha was seen in a pink shirt and blue denim.

As soon as the video went viral, it got everyone’s attention. While one Reddit user wrote, “Please make a movie for both of you. Sid & Ayesha should be back,” another added, “Sid and Aisha 15 years later. Wow i feel so old” One more comment read, “It would be nice to see a sequel to Wake up sid 15 years later..Could explore so many topics.” A user also wrote, “Konkana is a brilliant director rising through the ranks pretty fast. Would love to see her direct a movie with RK as a lead.”

For those caught unaware, ‘Wake Up Sid’ was released in 2009. It was one of Ranbir’s initial films of his career and emerged to be one of his biggest hits. The coming-of-age film revolves around a spoiled brat who learns to live his life independently, but only after he starts living with a journalist, who has just moved to Mumbai. The film was Ayan Mukerji’s first film as well. 

Meanwhile, as for Ranbir and Konkana, they both had a memorable 2023. Ranbir witnessed two hits this year, including ‘Tu Jhooti Main Makkaar’ with Shraddha Kapoor and ‘Animal’, directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga. ‘Animal’ has now emerged as Ranbir’s biggest hit of his career. On the other hand, Konkana caught everyone’s attention with ‘Lust Stories 2’. She directed the film ‘The Mirror’ for the anthology film, and featured Tillotama Shome and Amruta Subhash in the lead.
