Shaheen Afridi will play his first T20I as the national side's skipper. Afridi was given the role after Babar Azam left the captaincy in all formats following a bad ODI World Cup campaign in India last year.
Considering this year's T20 World Cup in the West Indies and the United States Of America, the series against New Zealand will be very crucial for Pakistan as well as for new captain Shaheen Afridi as well. Afridi has some newcomers like Saim Ayub, Aamer Jamal and Sahibzada Farhan in the squad.

Kane Williamson will be leading the Blackcaps in the home series. Matt Henry, who was out due to injury, is also making his comeback. Lockie Ferguson and Devon Conway are also included in the squad. Williamson will be looking to use his best possible team in Eden Park.
