In the main event of ONE Fight Night 9 on Prime Video on Friday, April 21, it only took Jonathan Haggerty two minutes and 40 seconds to put on the best performance of his career.

The legend slayer scored a stunning upset victory over Thai superstar Nong-O Hama, capturing the ONE Bantamweight Muay Thai World Title in the process.

To make matters sweeter, “The General” was able to do it all at the iconic Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.

Haggerty and his foe went at it from the opening bell, both men happy to trade heavy blows. It was the Brit’s thunderous punching combinations, however, that led to one of the biggest upsets ever seen in the historic venue.

With his blazing-fast boxing, Haggerty put the titleholder on the canvas not once, not twice, but three times in the first round to capture 26 pounds of gold and secure his place in the history books.

As a result, the 26-year-old not only became the ONE Bantamweight Muay Thai World Champion, but he also improved his record to 20-4.

What’s more, after the fight, ONE Chairman and CEO Chatri Sityodtong awarded the newly crowned champion a US$100,000 performance bonus for the emphatic victory.
