Arsenal fans' patience regarding transfers has finally come to fruition with the arrival Germany international Kai Havertz. The former Chelsea star has completed a move across London by joining the Gunners in a deal reportedly worth 65 million pounds ($82 million).

The 24-year-old forward, who had scored the winning goal for Chelsea in their 2021 Champions League triumph against Manchester City, has become Mikel Arteta's first signing of the summer after Arsenal finished runners-up in the Premier League last season.

"You have probably already seen it.. But now officially' I'm a Gunner,” Havertz tweeted, adding a heart emoji.

“Kai is a player of top quality. He has great versatility and is an intelligent player. He will bring a huge amount of extra strength to our midfield and variety to our play.

“We welcome Kai and his family to Arsenal Football Club and we are all excited to start working with him when we start pre-season training soon,” Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta was quoted on their website.

However, the shopping might not stop here for the Gunners. Manager Arteta is aiming to strengthen this summer after suffering the pain of last season's title collapse. Arsenal has also been linked with a move for West Ham midfielder Declan Rice and Ajax defender Jurrien Timber.
