Cristiano Ronaldo-led Portugal went onto secure a 3-2 win over Ghana. It was goalless at the end of the first half with best chance coming to Ronaldo but he was denied by Lawrence Ati-Zigi. The Portuguese dominated the first half but couldn’t find the goal. In the 62nd minute, a controversial penalty was awarded as Mohammed Salisu appeared to have brought Ronaldo down. The 37 year old fired it home to give Fernando Santos’ men the lead. In the 73rd minute, Andre Ayew found the equalizer for Ghana as Mohammed Kudus made a beautiful run and and put a delicious cross in the box which Ayew strikes well. Joao Felix restored the lead as the Atletico Madrid forward rushes on a through ball and slot his effort past Ati-Zigi. In just two minutes, Portugal doubled their advantage, this time through Rafael Leao as Bruno Fernandes registered his second assist of the evening. In the 89th minute, Ghana found one goal back, giving major hopes of a comeback in the final few minutes of the game. Osman Bukari scored through a header and went onto imitate the iconic Ronaldo celebration. In the end, the African side couldn’t find the equalizer they were looking for as Portugal walked with all three points.
