Digvesh Rathi has quickly become one of the breakout stars of IPL 2025, turning heads with his sharp bowling and unforgettable celebrations. While his wickets have been impressive, it's his "notebook" celebration that’s grabbed the most attention – and not always in the best way. (More Cricket News)

Juggling wickets and fines, Digvesh has won over fans with his unique style. Despite being fined a few times for his signature "notebook" celebrations, he stays true to himself, adding flair and personality to every wicket.

He is playing for Lucknow Super Giants, but the Delhi-ness in him is impossible to miss, making his presence both impactful and unmistakable.

Picked for ₹35 lakh, the 25-year-old mystery spinner made a big splash in just his fourth IPL game, bagging the Player of the Match award against Mumbai Indians with a tidy 1/21 in a high-scoring clash.

Digvesh’s life has a touch of Bollywood magic, and it all starts with his dad’s name. According to Indian Express, his father, Dharmender, named his first two sons Sunny and Bobby.

But it’s not just his name that stands out, it’s the journey. Despite facing financial struggles, his family, especially his brother Sunny, made sacrifices.

Sunny, once a promising left-arm spinner, had to let go of his cricket dreams due to these challenges. Now, working as a police constable, Sunny proudly watches Bobby’s rise to success, supporting him every step of the way.

Looking at Digvesh’s bowling now, you’d think he’s always been a spinner. But it wasn’t always like that. He started out as a batter -- one with a Sehwag-style cover drive, no less.

It was only when batting slots ran scarce at Poorvi Delhi Khel Parisar that he turned to bowling, with his brother Sunny guiding him through hours of single-stump target practice.

According to an ESPN story, Digvesh was such a big Sunil Narine fan that he had the West Indian’s photo as his WhatsApp and Facebook display picture. Before long, he was copying his action too.

When cricket took a back seat during the pandemic, Bobby didn’t. He focused on fitness and sharpened his skills -- laying the groundwork for the moment he would one day dismiss his idol in the IPL.

Digvesh first started turning heads during the Delhi Premier League, playing for South Delhi Superstarz. He picked up 14 wickets in 10 games at an economy of 7.82, finishing as the tournament’s fourth-highest wicket-taker. That performance didn’t just put him on the map -- it helped shift things for his family too.

As IPL 2025 picks up steam, Digvesh's flair with the ball, and his flair for the dramatic, make him one of the most watchable names this season. Wickets, notebook celebrations, and all, Bobby (Digvesh) looks built for the big stage. But for him, this isn’t just his dream -- it’s the dream his family has always had for him.
