The Brazil national men's football team have started their South American 2026 World Cup Qualifying campaign in right earnest, winning their first two matches against Bolivia and Peru, respectively. Brazil are currently tied with Argentina on six points but are occupying the top spot on the Conmebol 2026 World Cup Qualifying points table, thanks to a better goal difference. In their next qualifying match-up, the Selecao will take on Venezuela on Friday, October 13. Star Brazil footballer and Real Madrid winger Vinicius Jr. returned to the national squad for October’s World Cup Qualifying matches. Vinicius did not play Brazil’s 2026 WC qualifying campaign opener owing to fitness concerns. Brazil will go into the match on the back of a 1-0 win against Peru, and 5-1 thrashing of Bolivia before that.

Meanwhile, Argentina will be up against Paraguay at the Estadio Monumental in Buenos Aires, Argentina on October 13. Argentina have a goal difference of +4 as against Brazil's +5, and hence will be looking to overtake the Selecao with a big win against Paraguay. In another key game, Colombia will face Uruguay at the Estadio Metropolitano in Barranquilla, Colombia, in what is expected to be a closely-contested match against two high-quality sides. Elsewhere, the other Friday fixtures are Bolivia vs Ecuador  and Chile vs Peru.
