Tilak Varma made his debut in one-day internationals as India, winning the toss and choosing to field first, rested a bunch of senior players and announced five changes to their playing XI against Bangladesh in the final Asia Cup Super 4 encounter, in Colombo on Friday. (More Cricket News)

Seamers Mohammed Shami, Prasidh Krishna, all-rounder Shardul Thakur and middle-order batter Suryakumar Yadav also made their way into the side with Virat Kohli, Hardik Pandya, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj and Kuldeep Yadav being rested for the dead rubber. 

India have already qualified for the final, where they will face Sri Lanka on Sunday. The hosts advanced to the summit clash after beating Pakistan in a last-ball rain-curtailed thriller on Thursday night.

Meanwhile, middle-order batter Shreyas Iyer missed his third consecutive match due to injury, as the Indian cricket board (BCCI) said he "has shown improvement but is not yet fully fit."      

Bangladesh too made wholesale changes to their playing XI, but most of them forced, with multiple injuries to key players including Tamim Iqbal, Ebadot Hossain and Najmul Hossain Shanto.

Wicketkeeper-batter Mushfiqur Rahim is unavailable for the match as he went back home to be with his wife and new-born child.

Fast bowler Tanzim Hasan Sakib makes his debut for Bangladesh on Friday.
