Love On An Darkened Stage
The Old World Theatre Festival has announced its foray into the world of theatre aficionados of Delhi with a collection of six plays that are looking at exploring varied themes. After enthralling audiences wih her mature acting, Kalki Koechlin steps up to the director’s podium with The
Living Room, the first play at the event. Another play to look out for would be Ek Mulaqat, starring Shekhar Suman and Deepti Naval, who are essaying the love story of literary greats Sahir Ludhianvi and Amrita Pritam. The event, which goes on for over a week, closes with Mohammed Ali Baig’s Spaces, the story of an artist struggling to preserve her heritage in an old-world haveli. Oct 10-18, India Habitat Centre

Sanmay Ved
Who He owned google.com for a minute exactly. Sanmay Ved was idly scrolling down domain names when he realised google.com was available for purchase, and bought it for $12.
Why The owner of the most visited site, Ved was an ex-Google employee and was convinced he would be stopped immediately. Contrarily, he was charged for the purchase and received many e-mails and updates showing transfer of ownership! It was only after a minute or so, after the firm realised his mistake, that Ved received an order cancellation notification. How Google managed to lose ownership cannot be known. Ved joked about the Indian prime minister’s trip working wonders, convincing Google to sell its most prized possession.

The weather is changing and in all probability, so will our throats. And while Phoebe can really pull off the hoarse voice, it is quite painful to live with. Try a concoction made from boiling tulsi leaves in water for 20 minutes. You can even gargle with this for good results. Another useful concoction is ginger boiled in water with just a bit of honey, again for about 15-20 minutes. Have this three to four times a day.

Burn In Acid
Without Acid, an exhibition by experimental artist Malavika Reddy, shows psychedelic art made without help from ‘recreational drugs’. Playing with mediums like dry pastels, Reddy’s exploration of Indian gods and goddesses, with their contrasting colour qualities, repetitive motifs and detailing, stands out. The exhibition reveals a unique take on our idols in an unusual art style.
