This is an old report. And the committee did not observe proper norms in holding such an inquiry. Moreover, I don't understand why the report, which had been submitted to the state government more than a year ago, is being touted by the BJP and BSP as a classified document.

Should I resign just because someone with some grudge says something against me?

I do not want to say anything on that. All I can say is that the report is not fair. I will fight those demanding my resignation on the basis of this report in every forum, in Parliament and outside, wherever it is raised.

It is for the party to decide. Let the election take place first.

The United Front is committed to secularism. Any politics that helps the BJP would go against the concept of secularism. It is for the BSP to assess what kind of politics it is indulging in.

At least for now, their main thrust seems to be to defeat Mulayam Singh Yadav and his party. But I do not want to say anything more.

It would not have a very serious impact. Because the BSP does not have a mass following...neither does the Congress.

This is not true. In the Lok Sabha elections, 83 per cent of the Muslims who voted, supported us in the state.
