Tamil Nadu police arrested a man for brutally stabbing his wife to death on Monday in the middle of a busy street in Tamil Nadu’s Vellore.
The incident was caught on a CCTV installed in the area.
It has been reported that the victim, identified as Punitha, used to work at a private shoe company.
According to the CCTV footage, she was on her way home on Monday night when her husband, Jaishankar, attacked her.
Initially he started with hitting Punitha before stabbing her.
As Punitha tried to defend herself, Jaishankar stabbed her seven times, before walking away.
A woman and a few others came to help as Punitha collapsed to the ground.
She was taken to the Ambur government hospital, where she died of her injuries.
Further investigations are underway.
