In a small studio called Star Studio in Mirzapur, a bunch of young boys are busy recording and writing songs. Shiv Raksha wrote a new song for BJP this morning. It took him only 30 mins. He wrote for BSP’s election rallies here. The composer says he has recorded around 100 songs this election season. Autotune, western rhythm and a lot of catchy lyrics are the mantras. Outlook spent an afternoon with the boys in Mirzapur and heard them sing and rap. They call it Mirzapur rap. Election songs are their new innings.
