Asian Games champions Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty reached the men’s doubles semi-finals at the 2025 China Open badminton tournament with a solid 21-18, 21-14 victory over Malaysia’s Yew Sin Ong and Ee Yi Teo.
Playing at the Olympic Sports Centre Gymnasium in Changzhou, China, the Indian pair raced to an early 4-1 lead, maintained their composure despite a late challenge, and sealed the match in 40 minutes.
This victory marks their fourth semi-final appearance of the season, having also reached this stage at the India, Singapore, and Malaysia Opens.
Next, they will face world No. 2 Aaron Chia and Soh Wooi Yik from Malaysia, who previously defeated them in the quarter-finals of the Paris 2024 Olympics.
