Most of the population here belongs to the Munda tribe, whose main occupation is farming and manual labour, and lack basic necessities such as functioning schools and piped water. Subar Singh, 45, said “When the President came, the police told us not to leave the house. If any minister comes here, they are not allowed to meet the villagers. No one talks to us.
