Fire At Old Age Home In Delhi Kills Two, Over A Dozen Rescued: Reports

Reports said five fire tenders rushed to the building after the fire was reported at 5:15 am and 13 people were rescued.

A fire at a hospital-cum-old age home in Delhi's Greater Kailash 2 area killed two in the early hours of Sunday, according to reports.

NDTV reported that the two deceased were women aged 82 and 92. Both of them died of burn injuries. 

India Today reported that the the incident was reported around 5:15 am.

The report said the fire has been doused and the situation is under control. The report added that the cause of fire is not yet known.

Visuals of the site shared by news agency ANI showed charred exterior of the building.

The India Today also reported that it is the second incident of fire in three days in Delhi. Earlier on Thursday, 14 people were rescued from Sangam Vihar area. 

"Earlier on December 29, 2022, the Delhi Police rescued as many as 14 people who were trapped on the first and second floor of a building that had caught fire...The 14 people (four females, five males and five children) belonged to the same family," said the report.
