Karti Chidambaram, Member of Parliament of the Congress party on Saturday tweeted his reaction on the recent arrest of former Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan.
Chidambaram referred to Rahul Gandhi's defamation case which cost him his MP status temporarily.
Chidambaram wrote, "Pakistan following the India model in preventing the principal opposition leader from contesting elections,” on Twitter.
The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf chief Imran Khan was arrested on Saturday from his Lahore residence due to the Toshakhana Case. Khan is accused of illegal acquisition and selling of state gifts during his tenure. Today he was sentenced to three years of imprisonment.
