Doja Cat, currently promoting her latest single ‘Paint the Town Red’, arrived on the red carpet for the 2023 MTV VMAs in Newark, New Jersey rocking a naked dress.

The naked dress trend gained popularity after the runway in 2022. The trend has come to dominate red carpets this time. Doja Cat sheathed herself in the ultimate skin- baring dress by Monse at the 2023 MTV VMAs. The custom-made design was made up of candyfloss. She wore a bold see - through cobweb-like fabric exposing her nipples with a thong underneath. She teamed her see - through look with high heels, icy - metallic combo eyeshadow, and an overdo mascara which accentuated her eyes. She completed the look with spidery switches and her platinum golden buzz cut. She accessorized her look with diamond jewellery from Maria Tash and Nicole Rose.
Doja Cat commented on her look in a recent interview with Harper’s Bazaar saying,“My proposition is that if someone has not met me in real life, also, subconsciously, I’m not real to them. They suppose that person belongs to them in some sense. And when that person changes drastically, there's a shock response that's nearly willful. ”
Doja Cats’ Nominations
Doja Cat is one of the most nominated vocalizers at this time’s MTV VMAs, with five nominations across orders, including Videotape of the Year, Artist of the Time, Stylish Collaboration, Stylish Direction and Stylish Art Direction. She also emerged as one of the top performers of the night.
Performance on the upcoming Album Scarlet
Doja Cat, having performed two times in 2021 and 2022, respectively on the MTV Video Music Awards stage, returns to the stage VMAs as a performer. Introduced by fellow rapper Ice Spice, Doja performed on her upcoming album Scarlet “Attention”, “Paint the Town Red” and “ Demons,” Scarlet. Dressed in formal attire with an updo, spectacles and red-heeled boots, Doja Cat opened her set with Attention and later removed her blazer and spectacles before heading into “ Paint the Town Red ” against the background of a Manhattan- style cityscape.
