Turkey: 12 Killed After Passenger Bus Crashes Off The Road In Yozgat, 19 Others Injured

After the driver of a passenger bus lost control of the vehicle, it veered off the road and crashed into a ditch in the Yozgat city of central Turkey on Monday. So far 12 people have died due to the crash and 19 others were injured.

Twelve people died after a passenger bus crashed into a roadside ditch on Monday in the Yozgat city of central Turkey. Reportedly 19 others were injured in the accident. 

Gov Mehmet Ali Ozkan told the media that the accident occurred after the driver of the bus lost control of the vehicle and it veered off the road and plunged into the ditch. 

Reportedly, the bus was going towards Istanbul from Sivas and the accident took place 240 km east of the city of Yozgat. 

Ozkan told AP that 11 passengers died on the spot and the 12th person died later at the hospital.

The 19 others who were injured were taken to nearby hospitals and Ozkan informed the media that one of them was in a serious condition.

Ozkan also said that the carelessness of the driver could be a reason behind the crash while a proper investigation is underway.
