A man died inside the subway train in New York when a fellow co-passenger grabbed him and placed him in a chokehold for 15 long minutes. A dramatic video of the man being held down went viral on social media. One of the witnesses told a report that no one thought he would die because of it.
According to a report by New York Post, the 24-year-old, reportedly a vagrant man, got on to a northbound F train in New York City on Monday afternoon. He allegedly started aggressively ranting, throwing his belongings and looking very disturbed.
One of the witnesses who spoke to the Post, said, "He started screaming in an aggressive manner.”

“He said he had no food, he had no drink, that he was tired and doesn’t care if he goes to jail. He started screaming all these things, took off his jacket, a black jacket that he had, and threw it on the ground,” freelance journalist Juan Alberto Vazquez told the news portal in an interview.
This is when the co-passenger came in and held him in a chokehold on the ground for allegedly 15 minutes. Another man was seen holding the man by his hands.
Vazquez took a video of this incident showing the two on the ground while the man flailing his arms and legs trying to get out of the hold but the bystanders kept staring at them.

According to the Post, the vagrant man was identified as Jordan Neely and he allegedly had a history of mental health issues. He lost consciousness during the incident and EMS workers at the station were unable to revive him, police and law enforcement sources said.
The co-passenger is said to be a marine veteran who was taken into custody and questioned about the incident. There were no charges made against him and was released eventually.
According to the police, an investigation is still going on and the autopsy results will decide if they will press charges against the co-passenger for the man's death.
