All 'Squid Game' fans to get ready as Netflix expands the 'Squid Game' universe beyond screens with an official video game. It will be joining other much-awaited titles like 'Sonic Mania Plus' and 'Money Heist' in their 2024 lineup of games.

On Thursday, Netflix announced its upcoming series of games in a blog post, which includes titles such as 'Cozy Grove: Camp Spirit,' 'FashionVerse,' 'Sonic Mania Plus,' 'Hades,' 'Monument Valley 1 & 2' and many more. The company also announced “a game set in the universe of Squid Game, in which you can compete with other players in games from the hit series”.

The addition of a video game marks the latest development in the extension of the 'Squid Game' universe. This follows closely after the spin-off series 'Squid Game: The Challenge' being renewed for a Season 2. Alongside, the Season 2 of the original series 'Squid Game' is also underway.

Mike Verdu, the Vice-President of Games at Netflix, in the blog post stated, “By year’s end, we’ll have 86 games available —all included with every Netflix membership without ads, in-app purchases, or extra fees.” Verdu also confirmed that there are “nearly 90 more games in development” and that Netflix is “just getting started”.

As for other games, 'A Rebel Moon' is also under development at Super Evil Megacorp, and will “take place following the events of 'Rebel Moon-Part One: A Child Of Fire' and 'Rebel Moon-Part Two: The Scargiver.' Fans will have the liberty to “choose their rebel” and fight along with their friends in a “four-player co-op action game."

Three classic 'Grand Theft Auto' games, licensed under Rockstar Games, are among the exciting selection of games. Under the title 'Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition,' this compilation brings together the beloved games 'Grand Theft Auto III,' 'Grand Theft Auto: Vice City,' and 'Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas.'

With the development of almost 90 new games, out of which many titles are based on their original material, Netflix is showing no signs of slowing down.
