May 1 is Maharashtra Day, also known as Maharashtra Diwas or Maharashtra Din, commemorating the state's foundation. To celebrate this occasion, TV artists express their pride in the state.

Neha Joshi

I feel great pride and honour as we celebrate Maharashtra Diwas. I come from Nashik, popularly known as The Ancient City of Maharashtra and home to many Maratha warriors and personalities. It has been amazing to see the tremendous growth that the city has gone through over the years, making it one of the smartest cities in the country. Due to my work commitments, I often switch between Mumbai and Nashik, and Mumbai has become my second home. I owe a lot to this city, which has given me fame, recognition, and affection. Apart from being the commercial capital, the city has been a hub for art, theatre, and entertainment. As a proud citizen of Maharashtra, I am extremely proud of our state’s cultural heritage, glorious history, and advancements. I hope this day leads us to the right path of peace and social harmony. I wish everyone a Happy Maharashtra Day! Jai-Jai Maharashtra Majha, Garja Maharashtra Majha.

Jagganath Nivangune

Namaskar Maharashtra. I feel proud to be a part of this vibrant and diverse state. Maharashtra has always been at the forefront of progress in art, culture, literature, music, and the showbiz industry. As an actor, I have worked with the finest talents in the entertainment industry, who have contributed immensely to the growth and development of Maharashtra’s creative landscape. I love Maharashtra and wish everyone a happy Maharashtra Diwas.

Himani Shivpuri

Maharashtra has so much to offer from its architecture, art, and mouth-watering cuisines. I enjoy Puran Poli, Kandepohe, Thalipith, and Missal, amongst many other delicious Maharashtrian dishes. Since I’ve come to Mumbai, the city of dreams, these dishes have become part of my diet. I love this city for various reasons, but food tops the list (laughs). Maharashtra has always been a source of inspiration, and this land has many success stories. I'm proud to call this state my home. I wish everyone a happy Maharashtra Day.
