Sunny Deol, Ameesha Patel-starrer 'Gadar', which shattered box-office records 22 years ago when it released in 2001, is all set to return with its sequel titled 'Gadar 2'. Now adding to the excitement, the first poster from the sequel titled 'Gadar 2' was released on Thursday and it features an intense Tara Singh, played by Sunny, holding a hammer. The post also unveiled the film’s release date as August 11, 2023.
Sharing the poster, Sunny wrote, “Hindustan Zindabaad Hai….Zindabaad Tha.. .aur Zindabaad Rahega! This Independence Day, we bring to you the biggest sequel in Indian cinema after two decades. #Gadar2 releasing in Cinemas on 11th August 2023”

The Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel-starrer, which clashed against Aamir Khan's Oscar nominated 'Lagaan' in 2001, will now clash with Ranbir Kapoor’s ‘Animal’ during Independence Day weekend this year.
The film is helmed by director-producer Anil Sharma, who stated, "'Gadar - Ek Prem Katha' isn't my film but it's people's film and dynamically shifted the paradigm of the Indian film industry. It went on to become a cult icon wherein people breathed Tara Singh and Sakina's love story. We are absolutely thrilled to launch the first poster."
