Priyanka Chopra Jonas, on April 3, opened up to the media on the sidelines of the Asia-Pacific press conference for the upcoming sci-fi spy thriller series ‘Citadel’, where she plays the lead role opposite Richard Madden. The series is set to premiere on Prime Video on April 28, and PeeCee feels that the Indian version of her Prime Video outing ‘Citadel’ is in safe hands, with Varun Dhawan and Samantha Ruth Prabhu leading it.

For those caught unaware, the Indian version is helmed by filmmaker duo Raj and DK, and is a spin-off of the original American series of the same name. The Indian version is amongst many regional versions of the series across the globe.

When asked during the press conference if she has any advice to offer Varun and Samantha, Priyanka told Indian Express that the duo is talented and don’t need any tips. “I don’t think I can give them any advice. They’re such accomplished actors in their own ways. There’s nothing I can say. I met Varun recently at the NMACC event and he was telling me how the shoot is going, how excited he is. There are some really cool threads that connect the other installments with our installment, so we were talking about those.” she said.

She added, “You’ll find out when you start watching the show how we are all connected to each other. But it’s really fun and I can’t wait to see that. Raj and DK are so amazing, so talented and they’ll bring their own spin to the Indian installment. So I’m very excited.”

Coming to ‘Citadel’, it stars Priyanka Chopra as an elite spy Nadia Sinh alongside ‘Game of Thrones’ star Richard Madden, who features as Mason Kane. Richard too complimented Varun and Samantha, and said, “The Indian version of our show has such a wonderful, talented cast. Each one is going to be different to the country it ends (in). That’s what is going to be beautiful, everyone’s finding their version. I hope they also have a lot of fun doing it.”

‘Citadel’, produced by the Russo Brothers’ (filmmakers Joe and Anthony Russo) AGBO and showrunner David Weil, will start streaming from April 28, 2023.
