Prashant Kishor, election strategist and JDU vice–president, apologized after no one from Bihar's ruling JDU-NDA alliance turned up at Patna airport on Sunday to receive the body of a CRPF jawan killed in Jammu and Kashmir.

Pintu Kumar Singh, a CRPF jawan from Begusarai, Bihar, was killed in an encounter in Kashmir’s Kupwara on Friday. His body was brought to Patna on Sunday. While no one from the JDU turned up to show support for his family, Chief Minister and JDU president Nitish Kumar had come to the airport to receive Prime Minister Narendra Modi who addressed the Sankalp rally in Patna Sunday.

Prashant Kishor tweeted "We are sorry for the error in judgment on part of those of us who should have been there with you (Pintu Singh's father Chakradhar Singh) in this hour of grief."

He shared a video of Chakradhar Singh bemoaning that the NDA is only concerned about the Sankalp Rally, that Modi addressed.

"Ministers are only concerned about remaining in power.  They think that the dead are dead, and they are more concerned about Sankalp rally of (Prime Minister) Narendra Modi. It shows how concerned they are about the soldiers." Chakradhar Singh is heard saying in the video.

Prime Minister Modi and Nitish Kumar shared a political platform after a decade for the Sankalp rally at the Gandhi Maidan in Patna ahead of the national election.

The NDA invited criticism for its no-show at the CRPF jawan's funeral.

The opposition has been attacking the government for "blatant politicisation of the sacrifices of the armed forces" since the Pulwama terror attack.
