Colorado Avalanche defeated Tampa Bay Lighting 2-1 to win the NHL hockey Stanley Cup for the first time since 2001. Nathan MacKinnon scored a goal and an assist and Darcy Kuemper made 22 saves for Colorado. Cale Makar was named the Conn Smythe Trophy winner for his eight goals and 21 assists as the Most Valuable Player of the NHL play-offs.
