New Zealand registered a massive 99-run win over the Netherlands in the match 6 of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023. After winning the toss, Netherlands had chosen to bowl first but the plan backfired as Scott Edwards' side leaked runs. Despite a valiant bowling effort from the bowlers, Netherlands gave away too many runs as New Zealand posted 322 for the loss of seven wickets. In reply, the Dutch batters never got going as Mitchell Santner's fiver-for (5/59) gave the Kiwis a convincing victory in Hyderabad. Get NZ vs NED highlights here. 9:40pm: NED Just Could Not Cope With NZ's Pace
Netherlands just could cope with the pace of the likes of Matt Henry and Lockie Ferguson as the Black Caps were just too good in the second innings.

9:38pm: NED All Out (223 All Out In 46.3 Overs)
The Dutch have been bundled out for 223 and have given the Kiwis a massive 99-run win in the match 6 of the ICC ODI World Cup 2023.

9:04pm: NED Struggling With NZ Requiring Three More Wickets For Victory (196/7 In 40 Overs)
Netherlands have no answers for New Zealand's bowling attack as the Dutch still require more than 100 runs inside ten overs with three wickets remaining.

8:17pm: NED's Colin Ackermann Scores Fifty With Another 180 Runs More Required (145/4 In 30 Overs)
Colin Ackermann has scored a fifty for Netherlands as they require another 180 runs to win with 20 overs remaining.

7:36pm: NED Lose Wickets As NZ Bowlers Build Pressure (NED 76/3 In 19 Overs)
Netherlands lost wickets cheaply as Kiwi bowlers' line and lengths were immaculate. A partnership for the Dutch could help settle things.

6:58pm: NED Lose Vikramjit Singh (NED 35/1 In 10 Overs)
Despite braving the early swing, NED's Vikramjit Singh had no answer to Matt Henry's pace as he was sent back to the hut.

5:50pm: NZ Set-up A Massive Total (NZ 322/7 In 50 Overs)
Despite chipping away nicely, New Zealand ended up with a massive 322 for the loss of seven wickets. Tom Latham chipped in nicely but the Dutch bowlers bowled well in the middle overs and scalped important wickets.

5:04pm: NZ Set For Big Total (NZ 238/3 In 40 Overs)
Despite Netherlands' best efforts, New Zealand are marching on with the sheer class of their batting line-up. Rachin Ravindra departed after a run-a-ball fifty, but NZ skipper Tom Latham has since come in and kept things moving at a rapid clip. Can Netherlands keep the discipline and restrict NZ in the death overs? We will soon find out.

4:18pm: NED Holding Their Own (NZ 177/2 In 31 Overs)
Despite their relative inexperience at a big tournament like this, Netherlands have shown the skills and stomach for a fight so far. New Zealand batters have played well and tried to make the most of bad balls, but there haven't been too many. Paul van Meekeren sent back the dangerous young for 70, and Rachin Ravindra and Daryl Mitchell have carried it on from there. Nevertheless, the Dutch side is plugging away. Let's see how long they can stay in the contest.

3:30pm: NZ Consolidate (108/1 In 21 Overs)
NZ have lost Conway, who was dismissed by the ever-passionate Roelof van der Merwe for 32. But they have consolidated since then, with Will Young getting to his half century and making good use of the favourable batting conditions. Netherlands, however, haven't allowed them to completely cut loose and brought the run rate down below 5.5.

2:45pm: NZ Start Well (NZ 66/0 In 11 Overs)
The New Zealand openers began cautiously, but have accelerated in no time to give their side a good start. They are scoring at more than 6 runs per over and have not lost any wicket. Foundation laid for a big total.

2:05pm: Match Begins (NZ 0/0 In 1 Over)
Last match's centurion Devon Conway and Will Young are out in the middle for NZ. Interestingly, Netherlands start off with spin. Off-break bowler Aryan Dutt has the ball, and he begins well, with a tight six balls. The first over yields no runs.

1:03pm: Pitch Report
The pitch at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium has provided many high-scoring contests in the past, with the average first-innings score here being 288. The surface has brownish colour ahead of the game but there is no grass at all. We could be in for another run-fest.

12:30pm: Weather Conditions
The temperature in Hyderabad should hover around the mid-30s in the afternoon, while the evenings are expected to be cooler. The good news is that there are no chances of rain.

12:10pm: Head-to-head
This will be the fifth meeting between New Zealand and the Netherlands in the ODI format. The Kiwis have a perfect win record, 4-0. Also, the margins of victories are rather big. In the World Cup, they have met once -- which happened to be their first-ever ODI meeting -- in 1996. The last time the two teams met, New Zealand beat the Netherlands by 115 runs in April last year in Hamilton.

11:50am: Squads

Netherlands: Vikramjit Singh, Max ODowd, Colin Ackermann, Bas de Leede, Teja Nidamanuru, Scott Edwards (c & wk), Saqib Zulfiqar, Roelof van der Merwe, Logan van Beek, Aryan Dutt, Paul van Meekeren, Ryan Klein, Shariz Ahmad, Wesley Barresi, Sybrand Engelbrecht.

The second round of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 league stage fixtures starts today with an intriguing clash between New Zealand and the Netherlands at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad. The Kiwis, despite the absence of inspirational Kane Williamson, dished out an authoritative performance against holders England in the tournament opener -- another iteration of their rivalry. But the Netherlands, the only Associate team in this edition of the ODI World Cup, didn't have an enjoyable outing in their opener against Pakistan. There were moments of brilliance, but two innings of 50 overs is a long time and the so-called minnows often struggle to maintain the standard. Today, probably, the Dutchmen will bring their best game. They, of course, are a talented bunch. Then again, the Kiwis -- the "nice guys of cricket" -- can at times be brutal, always methodical and meticulous in their execution. It will be an intriguing clash indeed.
