The most eagerly awaited Africa Cup Of Nations (AFCON) 2023 kicks-off in Ivory Coast. It starts from January 13 and will end in February 13th, 2024. The tourney sees 24 teams engaged in a fierce battle to become the numero uno champion of Africa. Senegal will look to defend their maiden title, while the likes of Egypt, Cameroon, Ghana, Nigeria, Morocco, Tunisia, and others will try and wrestle it off them. (More Football News)

The matches will be held across six stadiums in five cities. On the opening day, Ivory Coast, the host nation takes on Guinea-Bissau in the first fixture of the tournament.

The first-ever AFCON took place in Khartoum, Sudan, a day after Egypt, Ethiopia, Sudan, and South Africa laid the foundations of the Confederation of African Football. Egypt, Sudan, and Ethiopia contested the first tournament, barring South Africa due to their racist domestic policies. Egypt beat Ethiopia in the final to win the first cup.
