India's stand-in captain in T20Is Suryakumar Yadav joined an elite six-hitting list during his match-winning knock of 80 runs off 42 balls in the first T20I against Australia in Visakhapatnam. (Scorecard | As It Happened | Full Coverage)

Surya smashed 9 fours and 4 sixes in his thunderous inning and also completed 100 sixes in T20 internationals while batting at no.3 or below. He took just 47 innings to reach this milestone. He also became the fastest batter to achieve this record. He is also the 4th batter in the list of most sixes from no. 3 or below. Former England captain Eoin Morgan tops the list with 120 sixes in 107 innings.

The list also features run-master Virat Kohli who has hit 106 sixes in 98 innings. South African power-hitter David Miller is just one six short of him and has hit 105 sixes in 98 innings. 

In the overall record for the most T20I sixes, India's full-time captain Rohit Sharma is at the top with 182 sixes in 140 innings. New Zealand's Martin Guptill is at the second spot with 173 sixes in 118 innings followed by former Australian captain Aaron Finch's 125 sixes in 103 T20I innings. The list also features Virat Kohli at the 8th position with 117 sixes in 107 innings and Suryakumar Yadav at the 10th spot with 108 sixes in 51 innings.

In the first T20I match played in Visakhapatnam, Australia set a 209-run target for the hosts guided by Josh Inglis' maiden T20I century and Steven Smith's gritty half-century. India chased down the target with one ball to spare thanks to Suryakumar Yadav and Ishan Kishan's respective half-centuries and cameo of power-hitter Rinku Singh in the end.
