Rayudu, who was in peak form at the time, was snubbed for Vijay Shankar, following which he put out a controversial tweet.

The 37-year-old shed some light on that episode, pointing out that he had some issues with one of the selection committee members at the time, which may have resulted in his omission from India's squad.

Though Rayudu did not take any names, he did mention that the issue transpire during his initial days as an international cricketer.

Speaking during a TV interview, Rayudu said, "I had some issues with the member of the selection committee when I was playing with them in the early stages of my career, which might be one of the reasons why I was out of the team in World Cup 2019."

At the time, Rayudu was seen as India's solution to No. 4 batter woes. However, once he was excluded from the squad, the batter sent out the now-popular '3D' tweet, which read "Just Ordered a new set of 3d glasses to watch the world cup."
