A product of Getafe CF's youth system, Ortiz brings a wealth of experience to the Indian Super League. He has previously enjoyed successful stints in Spain, including a spell with Atletico Madrid B. In recent seasons, Ortiz has showcased his attacking prowess in China, representing Shenzhen Peng City (Mumbai City FC's sister club).

During his time in China, Ortiz netted 15 goals and provided 11 assists in 56 matches across the Chinese League One and the Chinese Super League. He also boasts a strong track record in the AFC Champions League, having made significant contributions in the 2021 edition of the tournament.
