India kicked off their campaig with a commanding 2-0 win over Jordan, thanks to the goals from Naorem Priyangka Devi (23') and Manisha Kalyan (54'). Boosted by this strong start, the Blue Tigresses are brimming with confidence as they gear up to face a formidable Russian side, aiming to build on their momentum.
On the other hand, Russia, currently ranked 27th in the FIFA rankings, secured a 3-1 victory over Thailand in their opening game. The match saw goals from Natalia Morozova in the 15th minute, Darina Ishmukhametova in the 48th minute, and Valentina Smirnova in the 67th minute.
This is the second edition of the Pink Ladies Cup tournament, with six teams participating from two confederations - the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) and Asian Football Confederation (AFC).
Russia is the sole representative from UEFA in the tournament. Other teams --Republic of Korea, Thailand, Uzbekistan, Jordan and India-- are from the Asian Football Confederation.
