The Shpageeza Cricket League 2025 in Afghanistan saw a rare moment in cricket as legendary all-rounder Mohammad Nabi played against his own son Hassan Eisakhil. During a match between Amo Sharks and Mis Ainak Knights, Afghan legend Nabi found himself on the receiving end of a powerful strike from his son Eisakhil at Alokozay Kabul International Cricket Ground on 22 July.

In the ninth over of the match on Tuesday, Amo Sharks’ opener, 18-year-old T20 specialist Hassan Eisakhil, dispatched his father, representing Mis Ainak Knights, for a massive six over long-on. That set the tone for the over, where Nabi conceded 12 runs in his only over in the match.

Eisakhil had a good innings, finishing at 52 off 36 deliveries, which included five boundaries and two sixes, including the one against Nabi. His innings helped the Sharks post a total of 169 before being bowled out in 19.4 overs, but the Knights chased that down with three overs to spare, with Nabi unbeaten at six.

Hassan Eisakhil: Career So Far

Hassan Eisakhil is a teenage sensation in Afghanistan. Despite being 18, he has already played 25 T20 matches so far, scoring 599 runs at an average of 26.04, including four half-centuries. He also played in the U-19 World Cup 2024 and the Nepal Premier League 2024, scoring a 45-ball 150 in the latter.

However, he is yet to make his senior debut for Afghanistan, though that day should not be far away if he keeps up his explosive form at Shpageeza League 2025.
