Anerood Jugnauth, 82, Mauritius Has been the president and commander-in-chief of Mauritius for nearly a decade. Earlier, he was the prime minister for four consecutive terms, beginning in 1982. He became prime minister for the fifth time in 2000, but was elevated to the post of president. Was conferred a knighthood, and honoured with the Pravasi Bharatiya Samman in 2003.
