The White House has reaffirmed India's status as a strategic partner for the United States, urging New Delhi to ensure accountability in the alleged plot to assassinate a separatist Sikh leader who holds American citizenship. During a White House news conference, National Security spokesperson John Kirby emphasized the deepening strategic partnership with India, highlighting their collaboration in the Quad and on various global issues, as reported by PTI. 

Responding to questions about the potential impact of the alleged plot on the bilateral relationship between India and the United States, Kirby acknowledged the seriousness of the allegations. He stated, "We want it fully investigated and those responsible to be held properly accountable." Kirby further mentioned that the incident is currently under active investigation, expressing satisfaction that Indian authorities are taking the matter seriously.
