The Uttar Pradesh government is working with determination to empower people with disabilities and bring them into the mainstream of society and development, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said on Wednesday.

"People with disabilities need encouragement and cooperation instead of sympathy. The administration and departmental officers should make sure that the appropriate resources, equipment and certificates are available on a priority basis," Adityanath said during the 'Janata Darshan' programme at the Gorakhnath Temple in Gorakhpur.

"The state government is working with determination to empower people with disablities and bring them into the mainstream of society and development," he added.

The chief minister assured the over-300 people who came to meet him at the programme that every problem would be resolved in a quick and satisfactory manner.

While some people with disabilities requested a tricycle, mentally challenged people and their family members asked for certificates, officials said.

After learning of their grievances, the chief minister directed the officials to quickly provide tricycles or motorised tricycles to needy individuals.

He also gave instructions that no obstacles of any type should stand in the way of issuing certificates to mentally challenged people.

On the requests for financial assistance for the treatment of serious diseases by some visitors, Adityanath said it would be provided as soon as the estimates were ready.

"No one's treatment will be hampered due to lack of money," he said.

Adityanath also instructed that all revenue and police-related matters be resolved with complete transparency and fairness, stressing that injustice should not be done to anyone.
