In a tragic incident on Monday, a 6-month-old girl lost her life, and her mother sustained injuries during a clash between security forces and Naxalites in Bijapur, Chhattisgarh. The confrontation occurred around 5 pm in a forest near Mutvandi village under Gangaloor police station limits, where a District Reserve Guard (DRG) team was engaged in an anti-Naxal operation. Alongside the civilian casualties, two DRG jawans were also injured in the exchange of fire, as reported by PTI. 

The injured woman and the two jawans are currently receiving medical attention in a nearby hospital. Simultaneously, a search operation is in progress at the encounter site, led by personnel from the DRG and the Central Reserve Police Force.
