In a tragic incident, five lives were lost, including three young children, as a section of their home's roof crumbled early Saturday morning. This unfortunate event unfolded within the premises of the Anand Nagar railway colony, situated under the jurisdiction of Alambagh police station, PTI reported.
According to Station House Officer Shiv Shankar Mahadevan, the family of Satish Chandra (40) was in deep slumber when the roof partially gave way. The alarm was raised by conscientious sanitation workers, who promptly notified the police at approximately 8 am. Responding swiftly to the distress call, both local law enforcement and the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) teams rushed to the scene.

Tragically, Satish Chandra, his wife Sarojini Devi (35), and their beloved children, Harshit (13), Harshita (10), and Ansh (5), succumbed to the incident, marking a heart-wrenching loss for the community.
