After Manali, Dharamsala and Rishikesh, Israeli rabbis will soon be heading to Goa to bring citizens gone astray back to the fold. Police estimates say about 30,000 Israelis visit Goa every year, a favourite spot in winter due to the moderate weather and easy availability of soft drugs. It is not unusual to see banners in Hebrew at the beachside shacks. Rave parties are very much a part of the Goa package for the Israeli tourist, many of whom are in India after the compulsory army stint. A concerned Israeli government is now turning to the rabbis to stem the trend.
